Installation

Congratulations for the new release! I own v2 of the standalone and use the latest v1.2 DAZ plugin. My PC is working well atm. If I buy the Carrara plugin do I need to update the standalone to v2 as well? I haven't bothered updating it because I don't use it and the DAZ plugin is still at v1.2. I'd prefer not to mess around installing new software unnecessarily. It's my understanding that the plugins don't rely on the standalone and licencing is handled through my account anyway. So can I install the Carrara plugin without updating the standalone as long as I've got a v2 standalone license?

The Carrara plugin works independent of the Daz plugin. I have both installd on the same system and they currently work together.
You will need a V2 license to use the Carrara plugin but you can have Carrara plugin, Daz-plugin as well as the standalone ver 2 on the same system.

Yes, You will need to upgrade your standalone license to 2.x (as well as purchase a 2.x Carrara plugin license) but you don't actually need to install the 2.x standalone software.

Great news! I've already upgraded to v2 standalone so I just need to buy, install and reg the Carrara plugin then. One other question, why is there a discount for buying 3 plugin licenses and not two? Most people have two computers (desktop/laptop) not three.

OK I installed the demo version to try it out, but what user ID and password do I use?
my standalone one does not work so presume there is a beta demo ID
I own the Daz studio version so also have a standalone license for 2X
this is my activation window but it remains paused so presume not activated yet

Hi wendyluvscatz and welcome.

The demo version does not require a license or the standalone. If you see pause then it is working. Just press play to un-pause.

The reason it pauses is so that you can setup your devices before it starts to render. This is not necessary in the demo because they are all fixed to medium priority.

To stop it from pausing every time you open the viewport, go to the Preferences tab and select Auto Start Render.
