If you the notice the line is slightly choppy in this render:
is there a way to sharpen it?

hi,
do you have a geometry overlap in that zone?
anyway you can play with the 'filter size' in the kernel setting to get rid of the jagged edge

if not, check your ray epsilon, scale it up and down and see if it goes away
