Plant illustration - 3d or 2d?

I have attached a fine illustration by Herzon & De Meuron.
In the is a lot of plants in the illustration, and my question is "are they 3d or 2d or an combination?".
If they are 2d, can anyone recommend a collection worth purchasing?
