Alembic Materials not Showing Up

AJax with another issue,
So I've been trying to take this 3dsMax model into Maya to export as an alembic into Octane
When I export the model simply as an obj file, all of the materials map correctly onto the layers However, when I export the model from Maya as an alembic (both for hair and animation purposes,)
the material maps do not even show up, and usually appear as a black texture. It's not the invert of the material, and it's not the scale of the model, so I'm just not sure

Are there any workarounds, such as a better Max>Alembic exporter or a setting to apply in Maya/ Octane?
