So I can't do anything other than waiting. I have GF9800gt-1gb, not so quick card and it takes some time to get quality hi-res render on my pc. I wonder is it possible to tune it somehow so it would allow me to continue to work with my other tasks while rendering is going on?

I fear not, i have a gtx 260 and if i use pathtracing i could not work with my computer.
My way is to use direct lighting for set up my scene and switch to pathtracing for finals.
The only solution is put another cheep card only for monitor, if possible, or buy a gtx 4xx series card.
There are more responsive i heard.
Cheers mib

My GTX 260 allows me to surf the internet while Octane renders. Of course something like Photoshop would probably be a pain.

Would be nice if it would be possible to reserve somehow a few processing power of a video card for current monitor activity. Maybe by restricting Cuda threads or something?
Guess I need a special motherboard for a second card? I see only one slot in my pc for a video card. There is an additional on-board video although.

as there is no operating system running on a GPU, no timesharing is possible...
this is a problem shared with many other cuda applications and putting a cheap primary display card in your GPU and a more powerfull card for octane as a non-connected option is currently the best option.

Do somebody know whether there is a way to connect second video card to a pc with only one video slot. Maybe a kind of adapter or something?

Do you have an experience with it? How it works with Octane ? Should I buy another license for it?

Probably the cheapest way would be to swap out your motherboard with one that has 2 x PCIe x16/x8 full width slots and then add a 2nd card to that.
