Bidirectional path tracing?

Are there any plans to implement this, or a GPU-appropriate version? Or other algorithms for improving convergence rates/reducing noise in complex interior scenes?

BDPT was tested in brigade and didn't speed things up as much as we hoped. There is more we can do, but too early to discuss any details.
