hi there,

trying to get some bump to work, I assume a power of 0.05 units means 5cm deep bump on a metre-units model, right?

I am asking because the effect doesn't really show that much..

nope.
It's just the value.

Bear in mind that bump doesn't afect the geometry. It's sort of fake ilusion of structure.
If you want to afect the geometry you have to use displacement.
