HAIR! Maya Alembic export to Octane 2.0

So, I have only been using Octane for 2 weeks.
I have Octane version 2.0, and I need to render this man that I've modeled in 3ds max and Maya. I have checked the hair width in Maya, and I have made sure to modify the hair width in Octane.
WHY is it still too thick? I have managed to figure out a ton of stuff about this program in a very short time, as you can see with my Model Test guy,
so please forgive my ignorance; but there are virtually NO instructions or tutorials online for how to deal with this issue.
Any advice or links to directions would be GREATLY appreciated, to reiterate, I am still very new to Octane and modeling in general (2 weeks)
