x-particles and hair help

Hey everyone,
I've spent the better part of the day hunting for resources concerning c4d octane and hair + x-particles. For the life of me I can't render hair and I have no idea what I'm missing. I can't find it in the manual, yet I'm seeing great renders on the forum. Can anyone point to any resources where I can figure out how to render hair?
I want to use x-particles and hair together, instead of using sweep nurbs. Nurbing slows the machine down to a standstill, but hair works great....Just can't see the hair when rendering in octane.
Thanks!
JM

Hi, I might have missed something in the example files but these all deal with Hair object based rendering. The original poster was talking about x-particles and trails, and I'm on a project now where I'm using pCache objects with the hair renderer.
Does anyone have an example of how you would use octane with a tracer object, x-particles trail or pCache generated spline?

All you need to do is fire up xp emitter with a trail object, then simulate hair object in c4d and add the trail to the hair, then play with hair texture and object settings.
I recommend in hair guides changing the root to spline guides.
Here is a small example file..

Ah! That's a great example, man, I wish I had this about 5 hours ago. Thanks a lot for that, very cool.

Thanks for the example file posting ten- extremely helpful!
Quick question on this- this renders perfectly in the Octane LiveViewer; however, I can't seem to render Hair to the picture viewer with Octane as the render engine. Am I doing something incorrectly, or does this only work in the LiveViewer?
