Per Object Ray Epsilon?

A very strange request I know, but would there be any way (in future) to assign a larger Ray Epsilon value to one object than the rest of the scene?
I have one element that needs a high ray epsilon value to look good but this obviously messes the rest of the scene up. For now I will have to make several renders but maybe it's a possibility?
