Hi guys, just had 2 GTX460 installed and tested. Very quick indeed, BUT, there is a thin black vertical line in the middle of the viewport shown on the attached. How do i get rid off this line? (tried to save the image and the black line still there)

cheers

this was an issue in 2.1 and the very first versions of 2.3.
i don't think anyone else has seen it.

have you got the same issue with other scenes ?
it could be due to the missing support for GTX460.

some of the cores are not accessible with the cuda 3.0 toolkit we're using, although this should give you an entirely moire style render, not a line in the middle...

Hi,

I am still experiencing this issue when i trying to utilise both of my MSI GTX460s. Obviuosly when I run just the one card, the black line disappears. Frustratingly, defeats the purpose of purchasing the second card for the extra grunt.

@radiance, yes, every scene render using both cards, went like that, but as mathurin said, it will be gone if only using one card, but then again, whats the point using one if we could use two. Still image wise should be fine, but for movie, this could be a potential nightmare,...

do you guys have any plan to fix this..?

HI,

It's because our current octane version does not support the new GTX460 chip, which requires cuda 3.2
We will be supplying a cuda 3.2 version with the next release.

This is why most other customers don't have this issue, it's a driver / cuda related issue.

I'm seeing something similar with my 460 but it's on the right hand side of the picture (I only have one 460). Just a narrow band maybe 8 to 10 pixels wide that has noise in it. Don't know if it is related or not. I will test with my gt220 and see if it is still there when I render.
