Hi all,

are there settings to apply to the .exr untonemapped render to somewhat match the .png and render view?
I've added a photoshop exposure node with the attached settings, but is this the right way to go about this?

Image

cheers,

Steve

edit:
I'm not worried about the burnt out highlights, just the overall tone.

I'm curious, how are you guys working with the .exr's from Standalone?

As the .exr's are darker than the .png, are you lifting the tone, when tone mapping other areas like highlights?

Just a note:
Looks like the .exr's from Maya are the same as the preview render window.

I tried to explain what's going on here: http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 94#p173394
and here: http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 06#p173406

With 1.35 we changed the exposure scale of untonemapped images to match the white point of tonemapped images with a gamma 2.2: http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=38564

We plan to remove the exposure correction for gamma, but didn't get around to do it yet.
