playing with Octane for Max 2.01
enabling all the features we need 2,5X the gpu power
Example (4xTitans):
no mblur, fur, displacement: 4,34 Msamples/sec Octane for Max 1.2 rrprob=0
mblur 4 samples + fur (100.000) + displacement (2048x2048): 1,9 Msamples/sec Octane for Max 2.01 rrprob=0.8
Nice results...waiting for next gen gpus

Hi Gabrielefx,
I love your render, as always. So clean and realistic.
Is the door being blown open by the wind
If so, then maybe the curtain should moved as well...
but that is just the little devil on my shoulder talking
I'll shut him up
The render is just magnificent
I wonder how you get such clean lighting in the interior? I think it is very hard to get a good realistic mood in interior viz.
Can you tell what kernel settings younare using and other things you do to get this great light and atmosphere?
Greetings,

Very nice indeed, good to see all the new features being utilized. Yes, generally the biggest contribution to heavy noise is reflected light. Strong reflected light of course slows it down. Would be great for this to improve in difficult areas. God knows the engine needs this.

Gabrielefx,
Short question - is rrprob=0 useful? If so, how exactly it improves the render (quality, time, etc) ?
