EdgesRounding on small objects not working correctly

Hey,
we often visualize rather small technical objects at sizes of 30 - 200 mm.
The new edgesRounding feature is one of the necessities that had to be implemented before we could use
octane professionally.
Now the feature is available, but unfortunately we have problems with this function.
I thought it would work in relation to the units setup used in Max, but even with a value of 0.001 it seems to be way to big to be rendered correctly.
We are usually working in milimeters in 3ds Max - and I think scaling the objects up by 5000% or something like that can not be a suitable solution.
Do you have similar problems with this functionality or am I doing something wrong?
