Alpha map/texture

I'm modeling a bird and have feather texture. Just wondering how to set up a alpha texture to take out the outside and keep the feather. I know how to do it with a max material but having trouble with an octane material.

Attached are two of my textures I am using.

imagetexture -> mode=alpha(if has alpha) or color
has invert option
don't you use it ever?
