Thank you for the great news.
One noob question ....
Is there a possibility to render animations directly in Sktchup now? I have not seen this in the Sketchup plugin manual.
If yes, then are there any limitations?
Thank you.

Hi OTOY,
Bought immediately and tried.
Major comment:
1. no double side material
2. no scene animation output
3. geometry conversion slow (>1min for 40M model)
4. some component/group only visible in octane viewport after exploded
5. section view not supported (for your info: Visualizer can, Shaderlight cannot)
6. no octane light
Anyway, great plugin. Especially the concept to keep UI simple and translate SU materials.
My primary concern is what I can do traditionally in scene transition animation can be replicated via Octane.
It will be greater if OTOY can repond to this.
Thanks OTOY.

Hi pimpuppy,
At this stage there is no animation support. Beta testers asked me to add animation rendering between Pages (aka Scenes). I have this feature on the roadmap. Is that what you are asking about?
Cheers,
Fuzzy

Hi mate,
I'm working on a demo version but have no exact date of release so it can take a while.
There are going to be plenty of video reviews, check them out.
Thanks,
Fuzzy

Hi ahhhchuen,
1. no double side material
Yes, it is for memory limit sake. OctaneRender doesn't support double-sided materials, so in order to support them all double-sided geometry have to be duplicated which result in significant memory footprint. Sketchup is a x86 application and already very limited on memory. Wait for x64 plugin version where the issue would be addressed.
2. no scene animation output
Could you please give some details on that? What do you mean?
3. geometry conversion slow (>1min for 40M model)
Example scene please. Export time depends on the scene complexity.
4. some component/group only visible in octane viewport after exploded
Might happen. Please provide test scene for this issue to be resolved.
5. section view not supported (for your info: Visualizer can, Shaderlight cannot)
What do you mean by selection view? Examples please.
6. no octane light
What's Octane Light? Octane Supports Environment lights (Image Based Textures, Daylight Env, Textures) and Emission Materials which are supported in the plugin.
Thanks!
Fuzzy

Hi fuzzybro,
1. maybe duplicate geometry "on the fly" and reclaim memory after loaded into GPU?
2. page transition - you replied it already
3. refer attachment
4. refer attachment
5. not "selection", sectioned model using the "section plane" tool in SU
6. IES light like those I found in 3dsmax plugin
Below is what can be done just use SU native scene (page) transition without any plugin:

Hope we can do it with Octane.
Thank you for your effort and patience.
