frustrating Cornea Problems

Hi everybody
my problem is that no matter what settings I adjust for the "cornea" material it is not reflected in the render. The goal is to create a nice eye reflection but noting worked so far. Nothing I adjusted was actually visible in the render...
I tried:
It is a consistant behavoir and I'm using the latest version of Octane, Daz Studio Pro and nvidia drivers with a GeForce GTX670
I don't have a clue what I'm doing wrong..

I tried:
- assigning different materials from the live db glass and glass like structures, even strange materials like copper
- recreated blank meaterial and assigned live db materials later
- changed to glossy material
- changed to IBL lighting
- changed render mode to Pathtrace or PMC
- etc...
