info about memory limits and such with cuda.

i see this mentioned with no clear explanation. would someone be so kind as to shed some light on this issue in that it's critical for folks putting a new system together for the purpose of using octane. can one of the gpus also function for display purposes and also for octane. what is the best strategy for this. devote 1 gpu for display, opengl/directx for 3dsmax, blenderm,ect??
any info greatly appreciated.

It all depends on how many slots you have. If you have multiple slots, you can use one for rendering and one to keep windows super smooth. Or, you can install two of the same card (it seems to work best that way) and then use them both for rendering.

I have two GTX 470's and when I really want to render, I use both. If I'm going to be doing a lot of other projects or web surfing, or even gaming, then I can use one for Octane and one for the OS.
