Hypervoxel question....

Hi all,

I've done a quick search, but didn't find anything....

Simple yes or no question I suppose.

Are there any plans for Octane to support hypervoxel rendering? I'm not really conversant in the LW sdk, or if there's a need for Octane standalone to support said feature, but I haveta say, it would be massively helpful. HV's are offputting because of the long render times involved (for me at least) so having an Octane option would be quite epic :)

Thanks

Not an official Octane answer, but I doubt it. Octane requires geometry. Hypervoxels (to my knowledge) do not have geometry.

Hey Spud, before they officially started on 2.0 features, they asked which features were most needed/desired... two of the items to choose from were volumetrics and particles...

So yeah, I think they are liking coming... and maybe Juanjo will be able to tap into HV data... maybe not.

And in that case, I wonder if Rendering TurbulenceFD would be possible. That would be somewhat a dream come true to render smoke and such much faster than you can at the time being.

Yes, Octane doesn't support volumetrics rendering yet. Perhaps we could see this feature in the future, but currently it is not possible.
