Fabric Texture

I'm trying to create a fabric texture (materials are kinda my weak spot - I usually just use a texture from a texture pack and be done with it, but now with octane I find I'm having to build them all pretty much as the conversion never works quite right).

Anyway I want a dark blue canvas that looks like it's wet in spots. Wondering first what the settings would be for the fabric itself and then how I would go about making some parts look wet, like darker where it's crumpled. Is there a way with Vertex Map or anything?

Hello

Just use a mix material, in wich you can have 2 materials : the wet and the dry.

1/ in the mat editor, go to create > shader > c4dOctane > mixmaterial

2/ Create you dry mat, then your wet one, then add them to the mixmaterial slots.

3/ finally for the mixing amount, you can use either a custom made black and white texture or a parametric shader (classic c4d noise or gradient will work)
You can try with a c4dOctane one, like the turbulence or dirt.

Thanks!
Mix material is what I need! You're right.
