Rhino 5: Convert basic material to octance material crash

Hi there,
I'm using the Octane plugin with Rhino 5. My Rhino 5 frequently crashes when I convert materials from the basic material type to the octane material type. The crash occurs when I go to click on the little circle symbol for materials within the layers tab in Rhino. Sometimes it crashes just clicking on the circle. Other times I am able to bring up the window that shows the basic rhino material, I go to R click on the material and I select 'change type' I then click on the octane material and it crashes.
