Question for OS X users

Is anyone here using C4d Octane OS X with GTX780ti? I'm currently running the 780 OC but I've read about the TI not working on OSX. Also I read in these forums that the 780ti actually has a lower Octane benchmark than the 780. Is this true?
Thanks in advance!

I believe the newer GK110B based cards (like the 780Ti, Titan Black, and even some new 780's) require 10.9.2 and the latest NVIDIA web driver to work. I'll find out tomorrow when my cards come in.
I have not heard that the 780Ti is slower in Octane than the standard 780. The opposite should be true as they share the same chip architecture, but the 780Ti has over 500 more CUDA cores.

Thanks Riggles!
I'm running 10.8.5 with no plans at the moment to upgrade to Mavericks (too many horror stories!). So 780/Titan is the highest Mountain Lion will support?
The single Leadtek GTX780 OC that I have is already very noisy, so I can't imagine the volume when I put 4 of them together! Is the 780ti more silent?

10.9.2 and latest nvidia drivers and you're set to go with GTX 780ti.
IMHO 780ti OC is by far the fastest sollution for octane.
I've got GTX780/GTX 780ti/GTX 780ti OC/GTX 590 runing smooth as butter under OSX.
If you keep them cool then they won't hurt your ears too much.

Thanks emer_pl!
Do you mean native Mavericks drivers or NVidia web drivers?

Any any issues with the latest mavericks update 10.9.3?
And btw, what your Octane C4d benchmark score with your setup?
Thanks again!

I've got one of the 780's serviced right now and without it I have on 21.20Ms/sec PT (With full setup it's some around 29Ms/sec PT)-numbers from standalone version.
Only Nvidia web drivers, with native I'm getting black boot screen on every 780's .

Nice to hear from you!
So... it seems you have three double cards:
- 780
- 780Ti
- 590
where did you put them? Mac Pro 5.1? and what about the power supply?
I'm going to set my two old mac pro (2.1) to get ready for octane (x c4d, of course), considering the fact that soon we ca take advantage of the network rendering...
Last things... Where to buy the cards?
Thank you
L.
