HDRI bug

I encountered this before but, ignored it - now I think it's a definite bug. All I'm doing is setting up a simple scene with a HDRI background to light it. But if I swap out the current HDRI for a new one, the scene just goes black.

If I delete the HDRI environment, the scene gets the basic flat Octane lighting, then to get the HDRI lighting back I've had to close the LV window, and add a new HDRI Environment - thought that doesn't always fix it.

Could some check if this happens on their setup, latest version of Octane, R15 Studio on Mac.

hi,
no problem here with hdr and mac c4doctane ;)
for best result, make sure to always load the hdr in an octane image-texture node, in this way you can change the hdr with no issue and modify the gamma value of the hdr for fine tuning the illumination ;)
there is a useful shortcut in the live-view menu, Object/HDRI Environment.

Yeah thanks, I just figured it out! I was using the HDRI object, but it always catches me out, having to go the next layer down in the Attributes Manager to add images.

Hello
Not sure if it is a bug or not.
but with lower gamma values of hdri, the result gets brighter, and with lower values darker. Experience from vray it is reversed. in vray, I used to set lower gamma like 0.7 for darker shadows.
