Hello, a little question for you guys.

I have tried to use the "edit in standalone" button.

It gets me to an temp.ocs file in standaLone Octane, but can I go back with my changes into c4dOctane once i set up my materials ? is it even possible ?

not possible, only supports one way. From c4d to standalone. Second is nearly impossible for scenes

Ok, thanks for clarifying this.

I have a related question, when in standalone I export a orbx file.

Sometimes I try to reimport orbx mat. in C4DOctane and the orbx wont pop in the material editor, sometimes it does but the texture file path looks broken. And sometimes it works just fine. I feel like i'm missing something here, cause it should work. ORBX embed the textures right ? Maybe my filenames / file paths are too long or something... it puzzles me.

As an alternative solution, i was thinking to use the LIVEDB to make the bridge (standalone / c4dOctane) but i don't want to put my textures in public. (some are paid-for textures, some are messy or just project-specific and wouldn't benefit to all, it would cluster the public DB for nothing)
Is there not a private "USER" folder in the live DB ? I can see it from C4DOctane Live DB but not in standalone... is it a working feature ?
I think it could be very very helpful to have a per-user live DB space to work with.

Possibly, it couldn't detect top node of material tree. Which is your version? It should be better on 1.52 or 1.53.
Can you give me some sample orbx which cannot be loaded?

This is some explanation for USER category. This is visible for plugin and independent from standalone. You can put your materials here and not sending to internet. Just save to your hdd.

yes, it supports drag&drop:
From/to matmanager, also to over the objects in LiveViewer
