Hello there,
I'm starting a WiP thread where I will post images of 3D foodstuffs, to get some motivation and of course comments & critics to get things better !
My goal is to have a wide range of different models that I could use with my futur architectural works.
Eggplant for a start :

Nice. The big patern of the bump is quite strong though.
Maybe add some irregularities.
High res photo reference:
How did you do the fur? It's nice.

Hey Since !
You are totaly right, I'll do some rework when I'll get more time ! Thx
The fur is made with FiberMesh on ZBrush

Cool, je vois que tu es français, et qu'on a les meme references (bbb3, mattguetta...)

Quel shader tu as mis sur les fur?

Hehe oui !
Mais je vais continuer à parler anglais pour que les autres comprennent
The fur material is a simple glossy material with opacity set to 0.4, no need for a specular mtl !

New test with PMC sampler, about 40 min to render, denoise filter and minor color correction on photoshop.
I'm still trying to figure out how to reduce the noise on Octane only...

Nice progress =)
Check my signature if You haven't yet (as how I approach to fight the noise =) basically putting up higer res & using 'Filter Size' in kernel setting + 'Hot Pixel Removal' in camera - If You tweak those for exact situation, might get really good render with in less time. However - these blur imgage, so be carefull =) read more if You want.
(curently workin' on minimalistic kitchen =) these vegetables would be nice to have =DDD.. so tasty!

Hey Tom !
Yep, I've played with these settings, but as you said, this is blurring interesting details too...
I guess I'm good with denoise filters for now
There are two problems with my vegetables though, they need a high value of maxdepth (between 8 and 12) to get a nice SSS look and I have to keep high resolution meshes ( displacement needed !). So for interior scenes, I will need to tweak shaders and wait for Octane 2.0 !
Hope to see your minimalistic kitchen soon !
