Why Octave over iRay in 3ds max?

Iray is embedded in 3ds max..why use Octane instead? Thx.

What is the speed comparison of IRay to Octane?
I've never used IRay so I dont really know

Iray integration is not so good.
The thing I like about Iray is caustics. When you want good caustics from Octane, then prepare for long rendertimes. Iray renders them fast.
But the overall performance of Octane is better. Interactive view is great and it has more options to tweak the speed.
