OctaneRender™ for Blender 1.53 - 4.9 beta Win [OBSOLETE]

OctaneRender™ for Blender plugin. Windows x64 version.

The bundle consists from two parts:
1. OctaneRender™ Server
2. Blender - OctaneRender™ edition.

The first part (server) should be run on the same computer as the second one. To stop the server - just right-click its icon in the tray.
After the server is run - you can start rendering (or open a rendered view) from inside Blender. Before the very first rendering you should fill in the server address (only 127.0.0.1 at the time), login and password (your license key info) to activate the server. After the first rendering the server will remember this activation info, and you will not need to enter it again.

You should use only OctaneRender materials inside Blender scenes - the plugin knows nothing about Blender specific materials and textures (about any Blender nodes, generally speaking).

FIXES AND NEW FEATURES SINCE LAST RELEASE
  • 1.53 engine.
  • Camera "viewport hide" now works.
  • Fixed the issue with national symbols in Blender project path (textures now should work OK in this case).

After starting OctaneServer it will take some time before the LiveDB tree and LiveDB material previews will be available from Blender - as OctaneServer caches the LiveDB data from remote server right after starting. But only the materials groups tree will be re-cached every time after server start, LiveDB material preview images will be cached only once - so only the very first OctaneServer start will need some more time before LiveDB tree will be available in Blender.

Increase focal depth in Octane camera settings, and all will be OK.;)

Hi JimStar,

Ok, I'll try, thanks. Ah ok, I think I understood , no focal depth, no parallax ;). In the standalone with auto focus, always have a focal depth.
Thanks and my bad :D

Hello!

A little question of less importance:

I have many times tried to find information about what is new in the engines, now 1.53. Trying to search the forum with no success. I´m curious what is happening under the hood =) Faster rendering, new features? If the info is out there, I´d be very happy if some one could point out the direction. Maybe Jim could compress the goodies and have them in the new release posts, or link to the complete info?

Cheers!

1.53 just relates to the version of the standalone. So if you search for the 1.53 standalone then you will be able to see what has been added.

Hi,

Just a little question, will be it possible to have a scatter node upgrade to choose between the current node (single scattering) and a multi-scattering node to enable volumetrics inside blender plugins ?

I know, one way is to export scene as alembic and put it in the standalone, but the power of a plugins is to avoid this step ;)

Thank you,

Matt

JimStar - thank you for all the work. I'd like to report just one minor thing - polish characters in texture names cause some loading errors (thankfully the console says exactly which texture can't be loaded). Personally - this is no problem for me - as a Mitsuba user I'm accustomed to issues caused by polish characters, but just wanted to let you know.
Cheers, Szymon

Hi all,

I tried motion blur in blender plugins but the blur works for moving objects but not for camera. So for objects it's great, but why not works for camera movements.

If you have an idea.

Thank you,

Matt
