I don't know if it's an Octane bug or Max plugin thing.
Sunlight doesn't get trough portals and octane lights set to "invisible".
Kind of makes portals pointless?

Check alphashadows in on for sunlight to pass through.

I see. Ok, it works with alpha shadows enabled. Thanks.
Not very elegant solution though.
