Viewing float (tonemapped) images

Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone might please be able to help me out.
I'm working on a project using cinema 4d / octane / after effects. I've been rendering images out as float (tonemapped) on the render buffer type, since its giving me a lot of colour space / information.
I previously had differences between how the render looked between the live viewer and the picture viewer. Turning off the 'show colour profile' button in the picture view solved this and appeared to lower the gamma, making the images look the same as the live viewer renders. Its this button: https://www.flickr.com/photos/65867831@N07/13557814813/
Now once I get my images into after effects, I'm unable to replicate this. I've tried going into the interpret footage panel and ticking 'preserve RGB' which has worked in the past for me.
Is anyone able to help me out with this please? What's the best workflow for working with float (tonemapped) images please?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks
