Is this a bug? when matt is not checked the shadow plane has the correct shadow color/shade. But checking matt it turns black so its wrong shadow color. It should be invisible plane with correct shadow info when its checked.

Hi Geo_n,
No, this is not a bug.
If you want to color your shadows then you will need to use the transmission value of the diffuse material.
Thanks
Chris.

Thanks Fooze.
Do you mean the transmission in the shadowplane? When matt is checked its grayed out.
What nodeflow can I use to get the correct shading for the shadow?

This could be a problem in the plugin ... I am not sure why it is grayed, I will check it ASAP.

Yes, I think that it was disabled due an old bug in the 1.2 Octane API.
As workaround if you want to play with the transmission value when matte is enabled, you can link a float or RGB texture node to the transmission input. This setup should work.

Thanks Juanjo. I tried the float texture. Shadow disappears when value is closer to 1. When value is close to 0 its just black again. The rgb node seems to work and I can colorize the shadow. Not the real shadow solution yet though.
