how you setup light source of exterior scene ?

i m trying on exterior rendering does anyone can share tips of how you set enviroment light source ? day light or using texture enviroment with HDR ?

There is a daylight system, do you find it? Here's a snapshot showing where it's at... read the manual... note that transparent objects (or opacity-mapped) currently blocks direct light as if it were opaque, so window glasses won't allow direct light to enter the room for example...

If you're referring to specific tips on exterior lighting, just play with the settings... they interactive!! :D

thx ~ i knew the day light system but i mean will you use HDR enviroment instead day light system ?

If you still want a direct light dropping some sort of hard shadows, HDRI is not that effictient... you can try to boost up the hdri's gamma, to a point where you should see shadows, but probably it will take forever to clear up the noise.

PS: I prefer hdri for lighting for the simple reason that at least it gives you a background and something nice for stuff to reflect, whereas skylight doesn't. My dream would be for Octane to have independent slots for illumination, reflection, refraction and background.
