I can not open a animation/ obj sequence in Octane?
I'm using blender. I can not find how to open a image texture in environment.
Thanks

Hi Kazinger,
Are you using the blender integrated plugin or wanting to export from blender to the standalone?
Thanks
Chris.

I'm wanting to export animations from blender to the standalone. I'm using the integrated plugin downloaded form here otoy.
I thought I saw in Octane play pause and back buttons. I see now they are render buttons.
Thanks

I am assuming I can not import animations. Did I ask the question wrong?
I am unable to post in the Blender plugin section, that's because I have a student license?
You do not render from octane but a plugin?

If you are using the official plugin, you need to check the "export alembic" box in the render panel. Then when you hit "animation" to render, it will go through and export a series of black .pngs, one for each frame. Discard those, but you will also get an alembic file (.abc)
Import that in Octane 1.5 as a scene object (right click, geometry>scene). you need to attach a render target to the bottom of the alembic file. Click on the render target and then on the top menu use the animation script to render the animation.
that will bring in your animation.

Oh thanks . I have octane 1.2 . Maybe my student Blender plugin is a older version as I can not find a "export alembic".
Thanks.
One more thing with the Blender plugin. I can not add a image texture to the world settings. There is no link to open image. In the nodes I have a world output node but it maybe a cycles node.

Yes, the student version is 1.2 - but we will upgrade student licenses to 1.5 once we release the 2.0 version - so hang in there
