Running Octane with Parallels Desktop

I wanted to test out the MODO plugin (Windows only) on my Mac. For convenience sake, I thought I'd try using Parallels Desktop so that I could switch between my Mac apps and Octane. But I can't get Octane to launch, nor the CUDA drivers to be installed. It seems Parallels is using it's own software video adapter to talk to my GPU. So, does that mean Octane is out unless I go the BootCamp route?

Any experience with this?

Hi Riggles,

Unfortunately yes, it requires a windows installation with NVIDIA drivers that have access to your GPU.
This is the same as if you ran VirtualBox with a windows install, it will not have the direct access to your GPU that Octane needs.

Generally, octane does not run in virtual environments.

Thanks
Chris.
