This is the recommended thread for downloading, and posting any questions, suggestions or support queries for OctaneRender for Modo, build 1.33.0.41 onwards (STABLE RELEASE). This version is compiled against Octane 1.33, so see the requirements for that build regarding compatibility with your video card.

This version requires Modo701 SR4 or later, or Modo801.

This TEST version is 1.33.0.41 (but updates may be posted in this thread which supersede this release number).

If you have a support issue, pls provide the following information:
- Operating System (ie. Win XP, Vista, 7, 8)
- 32 or 64 bit
- Amount of RAM
- Graphics Card(s) - model (ie. GTX 580, 3GB)
- Nvidia driver version
- Modo version and SR number
- OctaneRender for Modo version (ie. 1.33.0.41)
- List what other plugins you have installed for Modo
- The most important part of resolving a produce is me being able to re-produce that problem. So pls provide as much detail as possible in order for me to do this, and if the problem is specific to the scene, send me the scene.

Change Log from release 1.33.0.40
- N/A

Known Issues
- Background image compression (ie. when the Viewport is smaller than the background image) is displaying artifacts on the background. This is will be rectified.
- The Modo command Export Selected Layers (rightclick option on a Mesh item) will crash Modo AFTER the export has finished whilst the Octane plugin is enabled. It is a Modo bug, which is being rectified by the Modo developers.

Another queastion about plugin authorize. Did I need to once authorize plugin, or every time when I start plugin I need a internet connection? I've a proxy and it's very hard to write my admins ask them a new internet connection.

Thanks!

The plugin should only require authorization once (unless you delete your Modo701.CFG file). The plugin should authorize just as Standalone does. Does Standalone require authorization each time you run it? If you don't have an internet connection the "Authorizing Octane...pls wait" message will remain on your screen for a much longer time.

Hi Alex - do you have to put your OctaneLive username/password in everytime you start Modo?

no.
it just poping this "authorising" message box the first time i launch the rendering after every modo restart.. this dialog stays there for about 5-10 seconds

That is the correct behavior - the plugin authenticates when you start Modo. Standalone does the same thing (contacts the Otoy server), but doesn't pop a dialog indicated that it is happening.
