I'll admit I havn't tried this with the trial yet
can anyone quickly give me a rundown on this working?
"Doesn't work at all - don't bother"
"Needs workaround - but works OK"
"fully functional, I use it occasionally when doing landscape for a residential client"
"Saves on MB due to procedural trees, can make quick easy changes your tree instances - its awesome, don't test it just buy it now!!!!!"
something like the above would be great
alternatively - I'll check back here if I answer one of the above myself!

I haven't tested the plugin with Flamingo, but my best guess is that it will work. I would be interested to hear how you go with it.

I have tried a file with Flamingo NxT plants (both part of the library and ones created with the plant generator) and they simply do not show up in Octane for Rhino,
I do wish they did.

I have raised the issue with McNeel to see if there is a way around this.

I also did a quick and nasty test with the WIP demo (using demo Octane too) - didn't think it was conclusive so I didn't post here - But I got the same result - all geometry loaded except the tree...
The trees are handled by Flamingo as instances automatically aren't they? could be a great low-resource way of doing external landscape shots. I'd probably export from Revit to do my landscape shots with the procedural trees if it works as it should..

McNeel have got back to me on this issue, and in summary, the geometry for the plants are not available to Rhino plugins (incl. the Octane plugin) at the moment, however it is something they are working on resolving,

Great News Paul (hopefully),
McNeel seem to have a good track record of working with users & resolving issues/additions - I sent an email to them this morning; since it all working will lead me to purchase Flamingo... couldn't hurt right?

Yes, they are definitely responsive to the requests of users - so will hopefully happen in the near future.

Hey Paul,
I've done a few small but sensitive urban projects and EVC 1850's correct vegetation has been part of the brief. Has there been any progress on this yet?
Regards,
A.
