Hi Everyone.

This is an illustration that I created as a present for my wife. She is my toughest critique.

The model is inspired by Venus figurines from the paleolithic era. It is textured almost exclusively with procedural noises within Octane standalone. The render is almost raw from octane, the only post process is color grading in PS.

Altogether, I believe I only used 3 bitmap textures in the whole scene as blending masks between materials.



A screencap of the material on the Venus. Each layer of noise is shaped using gradients. Same thing for the velvety cloth.



I intend to make a large print of this but found out that the maximum render size in Octane is limited 8k*8k. Does anybody know a workaround to this?

I'll render a couple of close-up shots later today for your viewing pleasure (I hope).

Ive seen some people use lens shift to render out 4 images and stitch them together in photoshop. Try researching that in the forums and see if it will work for you.

Also, awesome materials, nice use of procedurals. And my first impression was that it looks like old Venus sculptures before I read your post, so you captured that perfectly.

They create nice little bokeh halos against the velvet background. Like little stars.

I try render 10K before and then resolution automatic change to 8K
