Are these caustics i see or something else? Thought it would make an interesting experiment. Just a cylinder emitting inwards
v5 seems pretty sweet there are only a handful fireflies and i had the energy cranked up pretty high. I was pretty sloppy with the array of the spheres...

I let it bake for 1hour 30 minutes. I am sure it looked fine after 30 mins. 2200x2200

v5 is looking to be a real leap forward.

P.S. is there plans for Fesnel effect on glossy and spec materials? or am i just not seeing that octane already does it?

Radiance has mentioned elsewhere that he will be adding a Fresnel attribute shortly.
Oh and very cool image, I like it :)

can you explain in detail as the specular already has a fresnel (physically correct effect (eg the IOR)
also mail or pm please, so i don't forget to read yorur reply , me as i;m quite busy and flying around the world for a week in a few days.

Just an intense light source and a spec material try it out mess around. I thought too at first that caustics were completely unsupported, but they are not! woot :D
