New motion blur test

Hi guys-
I thought I'd put together another motion blur test using sub-frame motion blur. I set the samples to 150 and used 16 frame blur. Took about 20% longer to render but it's very controllable and looks great.
Alec
PS- Not the prettiest thing I ever made. Hate the colors.

Thanks Ahmet, yes, I love the motion blur feature. We now have almost instant camera motion blur thanks to the new build, and this excellent way to get object motion blur. I think motion blur is covered for us C4D users.
I sort of hate the art of this piece though. My fault. Shitty colors and composition. I guess it's just a test. I had to figure out this technique anyway.
Thanks!
Alec

Nope Tom!
I asked Karba twice, but never got an answer on my questions! C4D is ahead at the moment! Especially because of the offline materials too! Karba has to do some extra work to achieve ahmet´s results

I'm obviously a little slow, I see the motion blur check box on the camera tag and where you can adjust the shutter, but I don't see where to set these samples and the motion blur doesn't seem to be working... any suggestions for a newb??

i think you're trying 1.10 or near version.
This is a camera motionlur and works realtime. Cameratag has on/off and shutter time property. This works on animated cameras and not gives geometry mblur.

Thanks so much for the fast reply sir!! Yep, I'm using 1.09a and trying to get motion blur on an exploding object with a stationary camera. Does the newest version support geometry motion blur?

Octane does not yet support full motion blur. But it's coming.
Actually you can do with sub-frame motion blur in picture viewer and you don't need lot of maxsamples for good quality.
if your maxsamples in scene is 1000 and you are using 16 passes for moblur. Set your maxsamples about 1000/16=60-100 maxsamples.

I am still not seeing how to implement motion blur with something like the falling M&M's and a stationary camera? I've got the camera moving motion blur working but I don't see where you set the settings for how many passes, etc either?
Any help with a screenshot or description of how to get these set up would be very much appreciated!!
