Hi there,

I'm a new customer and just buy standalone + rhino plugin :

Rhino Plugin : can't install it :/ it need a SR version of rhino which is not mine... but mine is the lastest one :( I don't understand the problem;

Standalone : i have a part of a city (french one) modelized, and i can see it in the upper part of Octane. However, i can't "reach" it with my camera, it doesn't seem to move :/ (or may be, extremely far and move very slowly) i can't understand why because avec "little models" i have no problem to move freely my camera.
Is there something i can do to put my camera nearby my model and to let it move freely ?

I've upload my .obj, but it may be my "options" that are not good ? Is there a tutorial of what is the "perfect" options ?

Thanks in advance !

Bertrand

Hi Betrand,

I've had a look at the .obj.
1) You will need to change the standalone obj import settings to millimeters scale. (this can either be done for all obj's via file->preferences->OBJ Mesh Import, or per mesh by selecting the obj in the node graph then clicking on the little spanner in the node inspector)
2) I think the whole scene is not centered on the origin (which is why it's hard to navigate or see the scene on first load).
Try using the "Front View" in the camera view presets ( http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Standalone/?page_id=138 ).
This should get the entire model in view then you can use the camera target picker to pick the point that you want to navigate around with the mouse.

For Rhino, can you please post a screenshot or copy-paste of the version information in Help->About Rhinoceros...
eg: Version 5 SR5 (5.5.30717.16015, 17/07/2013)

Thanks
Chris.
