I am using a geforce 8800 on a iMac. Very impressed with Octane times. I model in Silo and Cheetah 3D and I like the fact that you can see the overall image direction very quickly. I have a lot to learn and have just downloaded the latest v5. Any comments are appreciated.

Thought I'd add my first render... OK, it has taken a couple of test images to get to this point, but it is still my first scene.



Could be lined up better, and perhaps a bit more contrast. Also some dirt on the helicopter would be nice, as would other things in the image. But, for my first go, I'm pretty happy!

Very nice image. I have a few questions for you.

What modeling software are you using?
What other renderers have you tried?
Did you import materials and use them as is , or did you modify or create materials within Octane?
