Hi everyone,
while practicing with Octane and MARI I got inspired by several works I saw on this forum... and came out with this idea.
Hard-surface modeling is still in progress, only the eye geometry is quite done: it includes proper sclera+iris, pupil, cornea, etc. Materials are in progress too, but the cornea has already got a plausible reflection & refraction, I think...
Clay and wireframe on my website:

Feedback is appreciated!

LOL. Awesome. Yours is much much better than mine. Nice work.
In mine I have a sphere with the texture painted on top and then a separate piece of geometry for the cornea with the IOR set.
Did you model each individual piece of the eye and put the index of refraction etc for each?

May I ask where you got the Eye texture from? I've been looking around online for some but can't find any good free ones or any ones to buy :/

I painted that texture in MARI, diffuse + bump

Good luck!
PS: if you want to do it too, I found this tutorial quite useful:

Hmmm okay, I suppose I'll man up and just paint the eye texture XD
- I have the student license for Mari so it shouldn't be too bad. I'll need to find a different tutorial series though since I don't want to pay the subscription >.<
- Also like what you have added, looks like it's going along nicely!

Time for a new update on my eye-bot.
It is now evolving into a bio-tech scouting unit, or something like that, featuring AR focus assistant on a contact lens, infrared lighting system, electrostatic cleaning eyebrows... OK, this is enough Sci-fi stuff for this post.
Here you are the raw preview, straight out of Octane and quickly tonemapped in Photoshop.

Thank you Icelaglace, the design is the hardest part for me,I'm always looking for references and doing some iterations on the paper in order to get something fair...
