Is ther eever a reason I would need to update the standalone version when I only sue the plugin? I have not updated the SA version since I first installed Octane and Poer plugin, want to make sure I dont need to keep stand aonle version pdated etc.. thnanks

No, you don't need to update the standalone unless you actually need to use it.
