Extremely slow in Max. Fast in standalone

Hello guys!

I use octane plugin a lot in 3dsmax. I have old gtx 570. This day I decided to export scene to Octane standalone (pathtracing, dark scene, gloss effects and lot of lights) and it was amazing what I saw. My graphic card gave me over 50 mega samples per second in comparison to only 12 in 3ds max. What is going on?

I was not using Octane standalone for a long time and even forget about its speed..

Is there any chance to get this inside max?

Please show us some pictures you got in 3dsmax and in standalone.
I am pretty sure materials, kernel settings and lighting setup are not the same.

Oh Karba, you are right. The settings were tiny different  So the result was pretty good but the speed was totally insane.

Sorry for alarm.

Thanks!

is there a convenient way to export a scene from max to the standalone, or do you have to redo all the materials etc ?

You need to make all the materials once again. :D But I think that it is not big issue. The problem is that plugin version does not recognize standalone material files.
