So many HDRI's so little time. HA. Anybody come across a few good hdri files that give really great renders for realistic human skin? Thanks.

You're going to have a really tough time if you want Octane to beat Luxrender when it comes to skin! But at least Octane is faster

I beg to disagree

The Magic Lies in the lighting and the quality of the texture take for instance... RGUS on deviant art, has some of the best renders... together with thepapertiger.... let me show you.

hi,
this is an octane render (poser plugin). The lights are an ibl and an emitter on a flat box. The skin and hair shader is my own creation with sss and transmission on the hair. in postproc I have set a little bloom.
and the same one with an hdr licht and an emitter:
i hope u enjoy

Here is Octane standalone with HDRI environment and mesh-light for reflection.

lots of variables for human skin
The best is to design your own SSS skin mapper for octane. Just because you have HDRI doesn't actually make it
Realistic. Keep experimenting with different materials and you will get there in the end
It really has taken me about a year of extreme hard work to get the results you see here
This was a quick test with Victoria 6 with the default texture maps
Rendered in about five minutes

For close ups, I am floored by your set up Ch0pper. Is that your own shader, or a modified Redspec?
