Hi everybody

i just want to try octane on my Macbook but the app shows that i don't have CUDA GPUs .. i have

-Macbook Pro 2010 i7 2.6Ghz with Nvidia GT 330m 512MB
-OSX 10.9
-The latest CUDA Driver 5.5.28 with CUDA Tool Kit
-Octane Demo Version 1.2
-Cinema 4D Demo Plug in
-Cinema 4D R14 Studio

------------
The Situation :

- CUDA Driver installed before installing Octane
- The Standalone Octane shows gray screen with " No CUDA GPUs " Message
- Tried to turn off Automatic graphics switching
- tried to force OpenGL by running another app before running the octane
- C4D freezes after i hit the render button and have a black picture in the render output window

------------

at the end i thought that my 330m isn't supported but i saw this guy using it !!!!

is there any solution for my problem ?

Hi, Older cards like these are being phased out because of the lack of support for the later features octane needs to develop further.
Having said that, the 330m has a compute capability of 1.2 (according to https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus ), which should work with the 1.2 standalone at least. See this FAQ page for details (http://render.otoy.com/faqs.php).

Does the 1.0 demo work?

Thanks
Chris.

That is as old as we have on file on the server.
Can you please try some older CUDA driver versions?
Something like 4.2? http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-cud ... river.html

Thanks
Chris.

Octane 1.0 can't see the CUDA 4.2 .. and i think OSX 10.9 is the problem cos it have it's own CUDA driver " The latest one "

forget about it .. i quit .. i will test the octane on my friend GTX680 next month

thanx man i appreciate your help

I have the same MacBook Pro model with the exact same problem. I cannot even get the standalone version nor the C4D plug-in version functionning.

Anybody found a solution so far?

Thanks.
