Rayepsilon + shaders

Hi All,

Creating a recent character of mine i have run into the vertices self shadowing issue once again, so i turned off rayepsilon to fix this. Keeping the default skin shader from the poser conversion comes up correctly, but as soon as i apply my own skin shaders, it seems to fill in the area previously outlined by the vertices shadow and creates a big blob on my figures forehead and above her eyelids. I have attached a few pictures to illustrate this. Its not isolated to this one shader either, ive tried 4 different ones so far and all come up the same. i have also tried removing the hair completely, along with the tiara thing.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this? surely its not the figure?

Looks like you didn't make her eyebrows invisible in Poser before starting the plugin.

As Zay said - this looks like the eyebrow geometry getting in the way - even with rayepsilon at 0 this will cause an issue (because the plugin will set a rayepsilon to 0.00001 rather than 0, even if you enter 0, and I will fix this in the next release).

The solution is to use the"eyebrows gone" morph to put the eyebrow geometry inside her head.

The eyebrows morph is different for each Poser figure. Some have it on the head, some the body, and some require you inject a morph to do it. Can you tell us which figure you are using pls?

Hi Guys,

i was using V4, but i ended up just setting opacity of the eyebrow node in octane plugin to 0, which fixed the issue for me.

Thanks for the help btw Paul
