Hi Michael,

Thanks for writing to us. If the intention is to render on the nodes then each node will have to have a license pair (standalone + plugin) and the renders will have to be started locally on each machine. Actually, Octane (standalone and the plugins) have no built-in network support at this time. As for the items in our shop, there is a 3-pack price for the standalone, and a separate 3-pack price for the c4d plugin.

We hope this information is useful for you.

Kind regards,
The OctaneRender Team

Hello,

just got a question about Licenses.

I purchased a Octane "Standalone" and a C4D Plugin License. (81276041)

Is there a possibility to get, along with this license, 3 or 5 client-node-licenses
like other developpers of renderengines are providing?

I urgently need for an actual project 2 more c4d octane plugins for
my other PCs to render faster.
But buying 279,- Euros for each node is too much for me.

kind regards
Michael

Hi Aoktar,

does Otoy know, what you are doing here? ;)

So for me, this means, that I never can use TeamRender, because
279,- Euros for each Node/PC is definitely too much for me.
Maybe you have a better standing and you can achieve more!

regards
Mike

At least you got a response.
I sent them an email basically asking the same thing.
I don't think they are aware of Aoktar's Team Render development.
I did include a link to the Team Render video that Aoktar had shown in my email to them.
So this still needs to be clarified. Why are they offering a multi-plugin price discount if
we still have to purchase a standalone for each plugin?

Nevermind. Just got an email from them. The news is not good.

Native network rendering support is coming in a future version of the Octane standalone/SDK, but pricing and details are still TBD.

yeah it's a little pricey but that's what it is. we bought the standalone plus c4d deal for EACH of the nodes. (It's actually cheaper than the 3 pack deal)

On the other hand, look what Arnold costs, so...

Hi,

I still don't understand.
So is it possible to buy one standalone and 3 c4d plugins
and all 3 plugins can be activated with the same standalone serial?

So I would buy two more plugins for 99,- Euros each. That would be o.k.
But 558,- Euros for rendering on two more Mashines is too much.

Btw. I could not find any info about prizes for arnold.
How much is a arnold license. On the other side its not available for C4D.

I would definitely go for the 3-plugin purchase.

I think the only way to get pricing on Arnold is to fill out the form on the Solid Angle site
and from what I can tell there doesn't seem to be a C4d bridge available.
I did not fill out the form. It felt like I was being pre-screened before joining the Illuminati.

there is an arnold bridge for C4D in betatesting.
license cost is 899,- plus 120,- maintenance per render node

regarding octane pricing, do the math. You do need a standalone AND plugin license on each rendernode.
Package deal is 279eur per rendernode (while still beta). 3 pack deal is 279 for the plugin plus 559 for the standalone, which is also 279. It's not cheaper plus you don't need to buy 3 at a time when you maybe only need 2.

you missed, octane is designed to catch the power of a renderfarm on a pc with multi gpus
