glas material grainy :(

Hello everybody,

as you can see I am having some problems with grain on glas materials. What feels strange to me is that everything else looks fine. My Maxsamples are at 128 right now and I can for sure bump this up, but as soon as I get to a good looking result my render times get over 4 minutes too, which is almost like when I use the Cinema 4D physical render.

Has anybody got tipps on how to improve glas without increasing the maxsamples?

I am Using Cinema 4D R15 with a geforce GTX 560 Ti

Hi, 128 is really low and 4 minutes is long for such a render and the GTX 560Ti is not a slow card.
Set down the maxdepth to 4-6.
Try to use direct lightning kernel diffuse and enable fake shadow for specular material.
Hm, I need 10 seconds for 128 maxsample, can you upload the file? (ocs+obj)

Cheers, mib.

Yes I would agree that there's something in your seetings making your render times very high.

I would expect 128 samples to render in a matter of seconds.

Also however, sometimes octane will render as slowly as your native app, but it will be far more realistic :)
