Mix material issues

Hello,

I want a dark blue plane. Drawn on the plane is a white 'sketched' pie chart graphic.

Ive tried to do this is by using 3 materials...
1st material is the dark blue background. This is applied to the plane.
2nd material is the pie chart.
3rd is a mix material of materials 1 and 2. This is applied to a polygon selection in the middle of the plane.

I can't work out why the dark blue background is different in the poly compared to the whole plane – when essentially its the same material. I need the background to be the same shade of blue.

The c4d file is there too.

Hope you can shed some light :)

Hello Kristoph,

For this kind of mix, it's not necessary to use a mix material. A mix texture is enough. As your pie is in grey values, you may use your pie as map for the amount mix between white (the pie) and blue (the background). Your system wasn't working because the mix was in 50% between the blue and the black of the background of your map, then a darkest blue...

I've made a little sample of the solution in your original file (C4D14).

I hope it will be usefull.
