OctaneBench poll

Hi all,

the OctaneBench competition has proven to be a huge success with no less than 29 entries in total. There are actually so many entries that it's hard for us to pick a winner, so we decided to involve the Octane community (licensed users only) to help us choose which scene should be used in the OctaneBench. Hence this poll. You can pick up to 3 different scenes. After casting your vote you will see the five highest ranked scenes at the time of voting. The poll will close on Wednesday 9 October at midnight CET (Thursday Oct 10 at 11 am Auckland time).

The entries (in no particular order):

Just bumping the thread up, so it doesn't get lost between all the rest.

And yes, a big THANK YOU from me to all who have participated in the competition. Awesome stuff.

aha...,
question..,
so the judgement now not related to clean or not the scene?
if still, maybe the judge should re-render with the limited time & required hardware,
so we can see the real result of the entry and it makes more subjective and fair i guess.. :)
but it's just suggestion :)

Cheers
Ian

Ardian, you think we are cheating? You dont believe in the power of octane? ;)
My picture was rendered in the given time, no postwork or something else, i guess all the other entries did the same, at least for the final image.
This is what the challenge was about, wasn´t it?

Ciao
Andreas

I'm not saying about cheating man :), just some octane user who follow this challenge doesn't have GTX580 or GTX680 0r even titan.., so it would be great if they (the judges) see it though directly how we (participant) using maximum capability of octane itself in our setting...,
I guess this is the challenge is about.. :)
but that is only my opinion..:P
anyway is great to poling so we know all of them :)

Cheers
Ian

The poll is now closed, thanks a lot to everyone who voted.

Because of the high quality of the scenes, we decided to pick 3 winners whose scenes will be in OctaneBench:

- IDEA from Julio Cayetano
- ATV from suvakas and
- OctaneRender Box from enricocerica

The GeForce GTX 780 goes to Julio Cayetano, the other two winners will receive a standalone or plug-in license for the 3D app of their choice (you will be contacted to discuss the details soon).

The scenes from all the other entries will be bundled in a huge OctaneRender Sample Scenes Pack, free for anyone to download once OctaneBench is released (unless the author of the scene wishes not to).

This competition was great fun for us, thanks again to anyone who participated, voted and commented.

Cheers,

the OTOY NZ team

:D Thank you very much! :D

I´m really happy and I´d like to thank OTOY and all the people who have voted in the poll... and of course, I would like to congratulate all the other competitors for their effort, and specially the other two winners... the quality of your scenes is awesome, well done! ;)

This has been a very interesting experience.

Cheers

Julio

Cool! 8-)
Congrats Julio and enrico !! ...and thanks to everybody who voted.
For me it was very fun to make that ATV. I started a bit too late, but I'm glad I got that far.
I'm planning to do some animation with it when I get some free time.
